Objectives

Our objective is to host a meeting on topics of current interests relating to all aspects of Measurements and Quantitative Methods and Management in Forestry and other disciplines. The South has a very rich and dynamic forestry and lots of studies and knowledge to share. Annual meetings provide a great environment for such exchanges and opportunities for relaxing as well as a productive atmosphere for joint work.

Call For Papers

Authors are invited to present papers on their recent and older unpublished works on all aspects of Measurements and Quantitative Methods and Management.

Inventory Issues: Inventory, FIA/SAFIS Related Matters, Updates; Surveys; Sampling; Site Determination; etc.

Data: Relational & Distributed Databases: Design, Programming, Management, Maintenance and Use; Data banks; etc.

Publication of Papers

Submission for publication is optional, and we encourage all informal presentations & any half-baked ideas not intended for publication.  Manuscripts of submitted papers will be published as non-peer-reviewed proceedings.



Submitting Your Material

Authors interested in presenting their works should submit the title and abstract of no more than 200 words. Please note that both abstracts and manuscripts will be processed as they arrive, so authors are strongly encouraged to send these long before their respective deadlines. 

Materials intended for publication in proceedings, whether manuscript or only the abstract, should be camera-ready, single spaced on 8-1/2 x 11" paper with all margins being 1" and with Times New Roman 10pt font. Please provide keywords. The preferred method of submission is by e-mail.

 Registration Fee

The early registration fee is US$150. Late registration fee will be US$180. Equivalent fees for full-time students are $100 and $130.  Conference attendants can purchase additional Conference Meals Packages at a price of $100 each for their accompanying family members and friends not attending the conference.  The registration fee includes all the meals and the icebreaker. 

The full fee must accompany the registration. Participants may pay by check (in U.S. dollars drawn against a bank located in the U.S.), bank draft or international money order payable in U.S. dollars. Make checks, drafts, or money orders payable to The University of Georgia-Southern Mensurationists.

Cancellation

Cancellations received until deadline will be granted full refund. No refunds will be possible after this deadline. The substitution of a new participant may be made at any time.

 Housing Information 

The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Beach Resort on Jekyll Island, Georgia.  It is a great location 20 min from St. Simon's with many attractions for adults and children alike. A block of rooms has been set aside at reduced rates of $62 for conference participants registering before the deadline of early cancellation.  Make the reservations directly with the Hotel by dialing (912)635-3311 or, toll-free 1(800) -7-JEKYLL or, by FAX at (912)635-2901.

A perfect island get-a-way location, miles of white sand beaches, the restored historic district, year round recreation, golf, tennis, historic and scenic tours, a water fun park, fishing, marinas, Jet Ski rentals and "dolphin watch" cruises, great shopping, nature trails, good food, and lots of family-time possibilities.
