Field Trip October 14

The Reynolds Homestead Forest Resources Research Center, located in Patrick County some 70 miles from the Virginia Tech campus, serves as a forestry research field station. Research involving both pine and hardwood management and reforestation, water quality and forestry best management practices, forest tree improvement and intensive silviculture is currently in place at the Center. The field trip on October 14 will focus on effects of genetic improvement and silvicultural practices on loblolly pine production, as well as on applications of best management practices in forestry operations.
